Artist's Description

The Corolla Wild Horses are descendants of colonial Spanish Mustangs and the oldest wild herd in the U.S. Explorers brought them to the U.S. almost 500 years ago. It is winter here in the Currituck Outer Banks, NC, and there is no guarantee of finding the horses. We happened to meet a wonderful local gal who offered to take us. And we thank her!

About Meg Leaf

Meg Leaf

In high school I took a photography class with an art teacher who became my friend and mentor. This was back when I was in the dark room creating black and whites (probably running late to my other classes). I had already documented my family and our animals on the farm by this time--images that today remain in my heart and collections. The camera goes with me everywhere. I specialize in landscape, wildlife, equine, and floral photography. My eye goes where it is called. From the smallest detail to the widest landscape. It is the one activity I can still do with a back injury and at my own pace that brings me joy and allows me to share my point of view with others. I hope my images speak to your heart!
